Lean back to avoid their strike, and then pull back in to counterstrike. Leaning back technique is mainly used to avoid the opponent's head kick and then come back in to strike. Lean back 45 degrees, back straight, lead hand swing down for freedom of movement, weight on your rear; and then spring back in like a rubber band and strike. Avoid and strike right away. It should be done in a well balanced manner one to the next.
